Here's the thing...

You may be wondering what the two of us are doing with a blog like this. Well, it's simple really. We love design and more recently have come to love several design blogs (ok, lots of design blogs). Often we are emailing pictures, stories, links back and forth to each other, sharing great design or DIY ideas that we find. Some are the practical, incorporate-into-your-own-home kind, and some are of the dream-on variety. As if we aren't busy enough with our full-time jobs and seven children between the two of us, we thought it would be fun to start our own blog where we can share our DIY projects, pictures of our favorite design elements (in our own homes and elsewhere), good steals that we find, and more.

As our blog states, we are amateur designers, working moms and southern girls. We are amateurs because the only design projects we can really boast about are the ones in our own homes. But we love everything about design - arrangement, color, style, details. We both can walk into a house and see beyond the decor (or lack thereof) and envision the way we would design it. Our own homes are works of progress - with so many little children to attend to, design cannot come first. But we understand and appreciate how design can make you feel about your life - balanced, organized, calm, content and even surprised at times (yes, even surprised - sometimes the slightest detail in our own homes can catch our eyes and delight us!)
